Hey Reader,

I slept for eight hours on the flight back to Hong Kong. I don’t think I’ve ever done that before. When I landed in Hong Kong, I was still tired—but it was a different kind of tired. Softer. The kind that knows rest is coming. I stepped into the warm, humid air and something shifted.

I speak the language here. I know what to order.

No one asks where I’m “really” from. I don’t have to explain why I want hot water. I don’t have to translate what 老火靓汤 means, or why my milk tea should be 走甜. I don’t have to justify comfort.

I had a small bowl of soup, one of those quiet, unremarkable ones that cost almost nothing. I sat with it for twenty minutes. And suddenly, my stomach felt calm. It made me laugh a little. Maybe this is what my body was looking for the whole time.

l still have a million things on my to-do list. Visa applications. Video edits. Decisions to make about March, about London, about what comes next.

I used to think home was something I was always searching for.

Maybe London. More likely Lisbon.

Or somewhere between past and future versions of myself.

Then I landed in here.

Warm air. Familiar streets. A hairdresser who still knows exactly how to cut my hair. A barista who recognizes me before I reach the door.

I feel safe.

I feel soft.

Yesterday I went back to Guangzhou for the day. Documents done in minutes. A quick workout. Then dinner with my family around a round table.

“Eat more.”

“Eat more.”

Some care doesn’t ask for anything in return.

Before I left Lisbon, a friend asked, “Who’s the first person you’ll meet when you get there?”

In less than two days, I’ve seen friends, spent time with family, and somehow the week ahead is already full.

There are still things to figure out. Work, money, what comes next.

But for now, I’m home.

And everything will be fine.

From one not-so-blue Sunday.

P.S.

If you’re in a building or experimenting phase yourself, I also shared a short video this week on setting up a simple website in minutes using Lovable.
