It’s my birthday. The favorite birthday wish I liked?

This week’s video might be my favorite thing I’ve ever made.

It started as a small plan to film a birthday reflection and turned into a conversation between my 33-year-old self and the person I’ve become.

Three years ago in Hong Kong, just out of quarantine, I recorded a message to my future self.

Yesterday at Pavyllon London, I finally watched it again.

She talked about staying young at heart, doing what feels right, and being her future self’s best friend.

And somehow, without realizing, I’ve been living by those promises.

For my birthday this year, I also gave myself another kind of gift — I hosted a comedy night.

Every time I do something like that, it opens doors and worlds I could never have imagined.

Maybe that’s what creative courage really is: giving yourself permission to surprise yourself.
